If you wish to apply for a bridging course at UNISA for 2024/2025, you must do so by the following dates:

  • Application deadline for undergraduate qualifications at UNISA in 2024: 01 September 2023 through 13 October 2023.
  • Honours Degrees & Postgraduate Diplomas Application Dates For 2024: The application period for honours degrees and postgraduate diplomas for the 2024 academic year opens on 1 September 2023 and closes on 13 October 2023.
  • Applications for master’s and doctoral qualifications for the 2024 academic year will be accepted between 14 September 2023 and 10 November 2023 (some exceptions apply).
  • UNISA Short Learning Programmes Application Date 2024: Applications and registration for short learning programmes for the 2024 academic year will open in November 2023. This website will be updated as new information becomes available.

Bridging Course for Teaching Qualification 2024 at UNISA

In order to graduate from every UNISA qualification, you must pass a certain number of modules and NQF-level credits within a certain period of time. For you to be able to continue with your qualification, you must pass at least a certain number of credits/modules each year.

  • A minimum of 36 NQF credits (3 modules of 12 credits each) in your first year of study.
  • A total of 48 NQF credits (4 modules of 12 credits each) in your second or further year of study.

Each semester, you may not register for more than the maximum number of credits/modules:

  • Each semester, at least 60 NQF credits must be earned (5 modules of 12 credits each).
  • A minimum of 120 NQF credits (10 modules of 12 credits each) per year for year modules.

Supplementary and/or aegrotat exams from a previous semester do not count towards the maximum number of credits. Modules taken for non-degree / non-diploma purposes also count toward the maximum number of credits.
